Sunday and to begin the day I visited the Church. It is the first day of the agriculrural year and the the animals, seed and machinery should all be blessed to ensure a good harvest.
Took "Hatvan" to Gödöllö, just 15 km and as many minutes.
The railway station at Gödöllö was built for Franz Josef, and his wife "Sisi" and was overdimesioned as Gödöllö at the time was a very small village
The palace at Gödöllő was originally built for the aristocratic Grassalkovich family, later Franz Josef, Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary and his wife Elisabeth ("Sisi") had their summer residence here.
The English style landscape park on the back side is amazing and you can only try to understand how it onece appeared as during and after the second worldwar the park was divided into smaller plots of land however still large enough to get lost in.
